Brendan MacDougall
Chemical and Petroleum Engineer. Course creator. The person behind From Fossil to Fuel.
Brendan MacDougall is a Chemical and Petroleum Engineer who graduated from the University of Calgary in 2008 and has completed CFA Level I. He has extensive experience across the oil and gas industry and has taught From Fossil to Fuel since 2020 in Calgary, Denver and Houston.
Brendan created the course to help people from every background understand the complete industry — not through dense technical lectures, but through clear visuals, memorable analogies, stories and hands-on explanations. Whether the room is full of summer students or twenty-year finance veterans, the goal is the same: connect the dots between individual roles and the business as a whole.
He doesn’t just teach the material. He makes it make sense.
